2010 / JUNE / INDEX LABEL TRIBUTE / JUNE 11

INDEX is back after the phenomenal night that was Shackleton in March. June 11 is an all local affair with a special twist. Some of Sydney most experienced DJ’s and VOID regulars get to select some of their favourite labels of all time and play tribute sets to them. The planning for this gig was probably the most fun we have had planning any show. Grown adults behaving like kids about what labels they want to rep and what tunes to play. Also the amount of DJ’s in the running for this was huge so there WILL be more of these nights. The list of labels doesn’t even scratch the surface of has to showcased. Labels certain to get a start in round will be Moving Shadow, V Recordings, R & S and more. Those selected for this were the first ones to come up, probably because they are so current and influential be it with their current releases or their influence on what is coming out today.

So yeah, the concept is simple. 1 hour sets of material from only those selected labels. Also, its tough to pinpoint a particular sound to some of these labels so you can use you own initiative to work out what DJ will play what tracks, as guide though check the links below as guide to 2 tracks each DJ has selected as certainties in their sets.
