2008 / AUGUST / LOEFAH

Friday 1st of August is set to be our biggest show of 2008 thus far.Void and Aquarium team up to bring you one of biggest names in Dubstep. Direct from DMZ in London - LOEFAH.

VOID team up with Aquarium to present one the leading producers in dubstep - Loefah . With a multitude of releases on labels such as DMZ, Planet Mu, Big Apple, Tectonic and Deep Medi, Loefah holds a distinctive sound which recalls early hip hop, dub and jungle. Loefah is without a doubt a bastion of Dubstep. He has made some of the biggest tunes ever to come out in the genre and his contributions are considered key moments in the evolution of the sound. Along with Mala and Coki, he is responsible for the seminal dubstep club and record label DMZ.

Loefah's use of bass in his productions is legendary. He uses bass to drive his tracks relentlessly forward, whether it be stabs, drones or squelches. His tracks "Goat Stare" and "Ruffage" on DMZ as well as the remix of Candyfloss on Hotflush are essential items in any serious dubstep collection. Taking sub bass to a new level, his sound has been described as "the frequencies that could be used by French riot police!" Loefah is widely considered as the man with the heaviest basslines in dubstep. As well as pumping out a steady flow of releases and remixes on virtually every major dubstep label, he has been smashing dance floors the world over with impeccable DJ skills and exclusive selections.

Touching down from South London, this is Loefah's first visit to Australia - an event not to be missed. Loefah is supported by some of the hottest local talent to ensure one of the biggest nights of Dubstep on the 2008 calendar.
